The General’s Down, an 800-fill goose down jacket with a tough, ripstop exterior, is a staple in the Flylow line. It’ll undoubtedly become a fixture in your coat collection, too. On breezy fall days, you’ll wear this puffy while walking the dog. On late summer camping trips, you’ll don it sipping whiskey around the campfire. And on those ice-cold winter days, you’ll stuff this down hoody under your hardshell as an insulating midlayer—it’s packable and compressible enough to layer comfortably and even stuffs into its own pocket for the road. Pertex exterior fabric is tightly woven to enhance the efficiency of the insulation, and underarm vents and a breathable, matte-finish fabric keep you from overheating.

What good is down insulation inside a jacket if the exterior fabric isn’t doing anything in support? Pertex Quantum is like the insulation’s maid of honor—it’s there to make sure all the pieces fall into place. This tightly woven exterior fabric, constructed from fine yarns, has a light, soft feel that allows the insulation to fully loft. It traps still air to improve the warmth and efficiency of the insulating layer, and it’s coated with a DWR to dispel wind, rain, and snow.
High Performance DWR
We dare you to go stand in a shower or the next rainstorm with your favorite Flylow jacket on. See how the water molecules roll off the shell fabric? That’s due to our high-performance Durable Water Repellent, a polymer coating added to fabric that makes it hydrophobic, meaning moisture beads up and rolls off, like marbles on glass.
Responsible Down Standard Certified
Responsible Down Standard, or RDS, means every feather used in our 800- or 600-fill down insulation has been third-party certified for safety standards, ensuring that all geese and ducks are raised by certified farms that meet the highest levels of animal welfare compliance and supply chain traceability.
