The extra-tough Compound Bib comes with a removable, zip-off softshell bib top so you have a choice in what you wear. For stormy days, opt for the warmth and protection of a bib. For spring tours, zip it off like those nerdy but versatile shorts turned pants your dad wears hiking. Air permeable eVent with Direct Venting™ Expedition fabric releases heat before you start to sweat. For the Compound Bib, we drew on what we’ve learned designing bibs all these years to make the most versatile option in the line. eVent basically invented the idea of air permeable waterproof membranes. What is that, you ask? Billions of tiny pores that keep moisture, like rain or snow, from invading from the outside while magically still letting heat and sweat escape from the inside when you’re on the move. Brilliant, right? That prevents those pesky temperature swings you can experience on a skintrack or powder day. We use premium eVent DV Expedition 40D.

High Performance DWR

We dare you to go stand in a shower or the next rainstorm with your favorite Flylow jacket on. See how the water molecules roll off the shell fabric? That’s due to our high-performance Durable Water Repellent, a polymer coating added to fabric that makes it hydrophobic, meaning moisture beads up and rolls off, like marbles on glass.

100 Percent Backcountry

Designed specifically for the rigors of backcountry terrain, these products are light and breathable for the climb uphill; waterproof and resilient for the way down. Streamlined designs make them packable enough to stuff in a backcountry pack, while core features like pocket placement and venting are conceived with backpacks and the backcountry at the forefront.
