Men’s Hanmer Wool Baselayer Top
Don’t worry: This responsibly and sustainably sourced merino wool base layer isn’t itchy like the wool tops your grandpa used to wear. It’s soft and melty as butter.
The reasons to wear wool as your next-to-skin layer are many: The natural fiber dries quickly, helps regulate your temperature, and it doesn’t stink like polyester after a couple of wears. Named after the community-owned club ski fields of New Zealand (a country that’s home to more sheep than people), the Hanmer top is a long-sleeve base layer with a long fit designed for layering and easy-access thumb loops. The biodegradable fiber is lightweight and still 50 percent stronger and more durable than comparable merino fabrics. The ideal weight merino, it’s warm when you need that extra touch of warmth but never overbearing.
