Mountain guides always have an emergency insulated jacket in their pack. They’ll throw it on at the top of a climb or layer it under their shell on cold descents. We designed the Bear Jacket to be that exact piece: a trusty, packable layer with high-loft synthetic insulation that you’ll stuff in your pack when you don’t need and wear on its own for the moments you do. It stays warm even when it gets wet, thanks to Primaloft gold insulation.

Regular: A traditionally cut fit that sits comfortably and true to size. Not too baggy; not too tight. Right down the middle. This standard fit allows for plenty of maneuverability in a classic, everyday shape for daily life and active missions.

80/20 Backcountry/Resort

You spend much of your time on a skintrack in search of good snow, and this gear is designed to handle windy summits, spring tours, and long days in the mountains. Fabric choices are made to offer lightweight breathability and air permeability for high-output activities, like bootpacking a couloir. But if there's powder at the ski resort, you'll be there, and this gear can handle all-day liftline laps, too.

Pertex Quantum

What good is down insulation inside a jacket if the exterior fabric isn’t doing anything in support? Pertex Quantum is like the insulation’s maid of honor—it’s there to make sure all the pieces fall into place. This tightly woven exterior fabric, constructed from fine yarns, has a light, soft feel that allows the insulation to fully loft. It traps still air to improve the warmth and efficiency of the insulating layer, and it’s coated with a DWR to dispel wind, rain, and snow.

PFC-Free

PFCs, or perfluorocarbons, are found in chemicals often used in Durable Water Repellent (or DWR), and once released into the environment, those chemicals are no good. Instead of harmful PFCs, we’re using a friendlier, bio-based treatment that will still keep your fabric dry in a storm but is kinder to you and our planet.

Primaloft Gold Insulation

The highest warmth to weight ratio of all PrimaLoft styles, this synthetic insulation features microfibers that trap body heat, maintain breathability, and repel water so it stays warm even when wet.
