If you spend time in snowy places, you know having a solid insulated midlayer is clutch. The General’s Down Sweater comes without a hood for easier layering, and it’s light and streamlined with sweater-weight down so you can stack it under a shell on a resort day or a backcountry tour. Or wear it on its own around town like a storm-ready sweater. It comes with underarm vents for temperature control.

Regular: A traditionally cut fit that sits comfortably and true to size. Not too baggy; not too tight. Right down the middle. This standard fit allows for plenty of maneuverability in a classic, everyday shape for daily life and active missions.

  • Models in Bigfoot is 6'3" 200 lbs and wearing a Large. Said as a layering piece he liked the Large but could wear an XL too.

50/50 Inbounds/Out-Of-Bounds
Conditions dependent, you split your time pretty evenly between the ski resort and the backcountry, which means you need gear that's tough and waterproof enough for the pounding of tram laps and storm skiing inbounds but won't sweat out on a climb on those days you decide to earn your turns. Here, we opt for fabrics and features that do double duty, like jacket powder skirts you can zip out or bib pants made for versatile pursuits.

The General's Down Sweater Features
Pertex Quantum
What good is down insulation inside a jacket if the exterior fabric isn’t doing anything in support? Pertex Quantum is like the insulation’s maid of honor—it’s there to make sure all the pieces fall into place. This tightly woven exterior fabric, constructed from fine yarns, has a light, soft feel that allows the insulation to fully loft. It traps still air to improve the warmth and efficiency of the insulating layer, and it’s coated with a DWR to dispel wind, rain, and snow.
PFC-Free
PFCs, or perfluorocarbons, are found in chemicals often used in Durable Water Repellent (or DWR), and once released into the environment, those chemicals are no good. Instead of harmful PFCs, we’re using a friendlier, bio-based treatment that will still keep your fabric dry in a storm but is kinder to you and our planet.

Responsible Down Standard, or RDS, means every feather used in our 800- or 600-fill down insulation has been third-party certified for safety standards, ensuring that all geese and ducks are raised by certified farms that meet the highest levels of animal welfare compliance and supply chain traceability.
