There’s always been this aspect of Flylow where we were naïve to the challenges we were taking on. That’s been a key to our success in a weird way. We dove in without really knowing how big or deep the pool was and learned to swim along the way. When you realize the gravity of what we were trying to do—create an outerwear brand from scratch that would seemingly compete with apparel giants backed by corporate machines—it would have seemed very daunting. Good thing we had no idea how big the task really was.

When it came to celebrating our 20-year history as a brand, we had the same notion: Let’s make a book! (We had no idea how hard that would be.) So, we recruited some folks who know a bit more about design, storytelling, and bookmaking than us—big thanks to designer Dana Smith and editor Megan Michelson—and they somehow created 100 beautiful pages filled with the stories of our last two decades.
The book, in a way, was our attempt to look back at a granular level at all the things that went into making this company as a greater sum. How it started, all the products that we tried throughout the years (including our most epic fails and our flagship pieces), the people who backed us, how we evolved. The book is packed with adventure stories from our athletes, stunning photos from our contributing photographers, and behind-the-scenes stories from our founders that document our trials and tribulations over the years.
It’s called Homegrown and we hope you’ll set it on your coffee table. The book is available now.
