Don’t take our word for it. Gear testers are rating our jackets and pants among the best outerwear of the year.
For independent reviews, no look no further. We've got press coverage of some of our new gear from this year, like the Lone Pine Jacket, as well as some of our trusty favorites, like the Foxy Bib, Lucy Jacket, Baker Bib, and Quantum Pant.
Newschoolers Names Foxy Bib a "True All-Around Bib"
The fit of our Foxy Bib is always a win: "A large range of numbered sizes is available, from 2-12, with ‘short’ and ‘tall’ options also available in every size." (Photo credit: Newschoolers.)
Here's what Newschoolers had to say about our women's Foxy Bib: "This is Flylow’s OG women’s bib. Arguably the most versatile bib pants on the market, this piece is one of the reasons Flylow has risen to such prominence in just 20 years. Constructed from sturdy stretch fabric, they’re warm and comfortable and will last for seasons on end." Sidenote: We now make a GORE-TEX version of the Foxy, as well as the original version with a 3L Tactic fabric.
Adds Newschoolers: "The Foxy is a true all-around bib; the ideal middle ground for long days in the backcountry, inbounds shenanigans, and whatever the mountain can deliver outside the skier’s control. Someone who wants just one pair of pants for everything related to playing in the snow will be more than satisfied with the Foxy."
Lucy Jacket Wins Best Overall from Travel + Leisure
Travel + Leisure named our women's Lucy Jacket their best overall jacket in a test of women's coats. "Made with three layers of recycled polyester, this durable shell from Flylow is the best of the jackets we tested," the review reads. "Designed with a 20K/20K rating for water- and windproofing, we didn’t feel any wind or snow creep through the zippers or fabric when we skied in harsh weather. The jacket is a shell, so you’ll want to layer up on cold days, but we love that you can wear the jacket in milder temps by shedding a layer ... It runs true to size with a slightly longer fit that seems to be more on-trend for style and adds extra protection while skiing."
Backcountry Magazine Features Domino Jacket and Foxy Bib
Stashable and stylish, that's what Backcountry magazine has called the Domino Jacket and Foxy Bib in the magazine's annual gear guide. "These bibs move with you whether you're on the chairlift or ripping turns; they fit and feel comfortable, plus they never ride up," one Backcountry magazine tester said. Another tester added: "The tougher material cuffs and powder gaiters had me feeling locked and loaded."
The lightweight fabric of the Domino Jacket makes it packable on the go or while on a ski tour. "Falls comfortably to my wrists and the nice U-shaped longer back fits well," a tester reported.
Lone Pine Jacket Named Best for Storm Skiing by Ski Magazine
Ski Magazine recently named our new Lone Pine GORE-TEX 2L Jacket one of the best ski jackets of the year. Named the best jacket for storm skiing, tester Ryan Stuart said the jacket is "well-suited for stormy resort days."
"Three-layer shells are the gold standard for stormproof protection, but the Lone Pine proves a 2-layer can be even better," the review reads. "It combines a recycled polyester exterior shell with a Gore-Tex membrane, plus fleece panels in the back and chest. Add them together and you get a jacket that one tester said made it easy to weather high winds and heavy snow at Colorado’s Arapahoe Basin."
Stuart describes the overall fit as loose but not baggy. "In well-below-freezing temperatures, testers battened down the hatches and snuggled into the fleece-lined chin guard. When the thermometer climbed above freezing, they shed layers and cracked the armpit vents," he writes.
Gear Junkie Names Baker Bibs Best Bibs of the Year
The Baker Bib is always a media favorite, and this year is no different. Gear Junkie named the Baker Bibs among the best of the year. The review reads: "We agree that the Flylow Baker Bib is excellent for stormy weather, great style, sunny days, ski resort laps, shoveling the walkway, sidecountry missions, and just about anything winter can throw at you. When the snow gets deep and the wind starts whipping, these hardy 20K/20K bibs are the perfect go-to. Now, these bibs are free of PFCs, or perfluorocarbons, in the chemicals used in durable water repellent (DWR)."
Men's Journal Names TC Vest Best Insulated Vest for Snowboarding
We love that Men's Journal took the time to learn the history of our ultracool new packable TC Vest. "We tested the original TC Vest years ago, back when Flylow was still making a name for itself with gear that looked as good at the bar as it did on the mountain. The original vest was named after a tough pilot on the iconic Magnum P.I., TC. The new version keeps that same irreverent spirit but gets a serious update: It’s lighter, more packable and considerably more versatile. In fact, this is one of the most versatile snowsport vests our test team has ever worn."
What really won over our testers is how easily the TC Vest moves between worlds. It’s legitimate mountain gear that doesn’t pigeonhole itself into a single use. —Men's Journal
Lone Pine Jacket and Compound Pant Get Best Of Nod from Newschoolers
Newschoolers named our Lone-Pine GORE-TEX 2L Jacket and Compound Pants among their favorite outerwear of the year. "The Flylow Lone Pine jacket is, technically, insulated, although only in targeted locations. It’s a strong candidate for the best ‘insulated’ jacket we’ve ever seen, with a Gore-Tex membrane and a great fit. The Compound Pant (which is actually a half-bib) offers more of the same, and that half-bib is a genuine ‘best of both worlds’ situation."
