20 YEARS OF FLYLOW
INTRODUCTION BY DAN ABRAMS, COFOUNDER OF FLYLOW
We started Flylow with an idea and a need. Could we mash up different types of snow pants to make the one we wanted? Then we added gear that we needed in our group of friends. From there, the journey became humbling as a community of people who also wanted dependable outerwear embraced our little company until we were not so little anymore.
Twenty years after starting this business, I am honored by every single person who chooses our gear before they venture into the snow or the woods. There is a lot of great gear out there. But what we all want is to dress in a way that represents our truth, to choose brands that align with our values. My truth was always to find a way to live my life on my own terms in the mountains. I value working hard and playing hard. My Pops always told me, “Harry, you have to work. If you love what you do, you are lucky.” Well, I am truly lucky.
As Flylow has grown, we have found that you appreciate that balance, too. That you work hard to own your time, prior-itizing the things you care about: your community of people, taking care of the environment, spending time outside. Balancing work, family, and powder turns is no easy task. We do it because we love it all.
So, as I write this letter at 9:15 p.m. on a Tuesday night so I can make some turns in the morning, I invite you to have a look inside at the journey we have taken. Twenty years…What a long shot this trip has been, and we would not be here with- out the community that has propelled Flylow.
Thank you for being part of our journey.
