We first introduced the Baker Bib back in 2011, when a hard-charging tele skier from Utah told us we should make a stout pair of bibs that could stand up to an inbounds beating but was still breathable enough to tour in. Challenge accepted. We ended up designing an admittedly overbuilt pair of bibs (with excessive 1000D nylon reinforcements and fabric you couldn’t cut through with a knife) that we’ve shaped and tweaked over the years without changing the things that worked well.
A much-improved iteration of the Flylow Baker Bib is still in the line—and it’s still winning awards for best bib of the year—but now we also make a warmer insulated iteration, a GORE-TEX version for those who need added weatherproofing, and a junior-sized one for kids. Because needs have changed, our gear must evolve.
My point is this: The Flylow classics are still crushing it, but we’re not afraid to try new things. Our new winter collection—which just dropped online and in stores near you—captures that idea well. All the standbys you’ve trusted from Flylow for years are still going strong and better than ever: the Quantum Pro Jacket, the Chemical Pant, the General’s Down Jacket, the Handlebar Flannel, the Billie Coat, the Lucy Jacket, the Foxy Bib, the Donna Pant, the Betty Down. We’re not going to fix what isn’t broken. These pieces work and have years of field testing to prove it.
Your old favorites are still in the line, but we added some new pieces that we think you'll be into.
But if we only had the classics, we’d be stuck in the past. That said, at Flylow, we’re never going to use valuable and finite resources to manufacture gear unless it fills a need or solves a problem. Our goal is to make gear that you’re going to keep around for the next decade, or longer. So, when we introduce something new, we do it with intention.
This year, we’ve expanded our GORE-TEX collection to give you more waterproofing and breathability. There’s the new Lone Pine GORE-TEX 2L Jacket and the insulated Vector GORE-TEX 2L Jacket, plus a highly anticipated GORE-TEX version of our women’s Foxy Bibs. We added a GORE-TEX glove and mitten, too.

The modern skier and snowboarder has vastly different needs than one from 10 or 15 years ago. Nowadays, we ski more in wildly swinging temperatures. We need gear that can adapt throughout the day and the season to a wide range of conditions. Your three-layer hardshell jacket needs to be able to handle an atmospheric river, a pow day, and climb a volcano in warming temps.
We added the Richie Softshell because we know a certain breed of backcountry skiers (we see you) lives by light, stretchy, breathable softshell on warmer, spring days. For touring or layering, the Raven Jacket and the women’s Lada Micropuff are even more packable puffies. Our kids' gear is looking better than ever, too. My kids wear this gear to school and skiing all winter long, and nobody is harder on their gear than kids.

For women, fit is changing and we are proactive in coming up with styles that don’t chase trends, but ensure we’re listening to what you’re asking for. Which is why we’re introducing the new Kadie Coat and the Sophie Riding Hoody, which have forward-thinking design and a more cropped fit.
We’re constantly tweaking our midlayer program to make sure we’re checking all the boxes: the fleece Delica Hoody for women is new, as is the Mateo Fleece for men.

Being willing to resurrect old ideas but turn them upside down is a signature Flylow move. We had the original TC Vest in the line years ago, but we’ve brought it back with the same name and a completely reinvented style. This vest is highly packable—I shove it inside my leg vent when I heat up on an inbounds day—and it’s versatile enough to wear to work or backcountry skiing.
And because we love to create products that are ridiculous and fun but also highly useable (see: our bathrobe, the Wolfie Robe), we made the new Zuki Fleece Short, named after a spirited ski guide in the Caucasus Mountains of Georgia. You can throw them on over your long johns on a frigid day or wear them around the backcountry hut.
