The Wolverine Lobster Mitten, Ridge Glove, and Super D Glove, and Super D Lobster get some love from the press.
We could tell you for days on end how we put our gear to the test through long-term field testing and how it performs in a wide range of conditions. But the truth is, it's nice to hear how the gear holds up from other trusted sources, like shop employees, athletes, or gear editors. A collection of our gloves and mittens recently got applauded by magazine editors and gear reviewers—see what they had to say about our gear below.
Ski Magazine named our new Wolverine Lobster Mitten among the best ski gloves of 2025, calling it the most low profile. "Flylow upped its glove game last year, releasing a line of burly, feature-filled gloves and mittens that carry the same down-to-earth energy as the classic work gloves from their early years—but better engineered and designed," the review reads. "This leather-and-synthetic lobster mitt features a neat under-the-sleeve cuff for colder temperatures, catering to skiers who prefer to keep things low-profile at their wrists. One tester who works in excavation liked them so much he started wearing them as his winter work glove. The three-finger design struck a nice balance between dexterity and warmth, and a brushed-tricot polyester lining kept us warm even when our palms started sweating at the top of a line."
Among the best ski gloves and mittens of the year, according to Switchback Travel, is the Ridge Glove, named the best leather work glove for skiing. "Blame it on the lifties—leather work gloves have gained popularity in the ski world thanks to their durable and low-cost design. Among the options, which include hardware-store specials like the Kinco below, we like Flylow's Ridge Glove best," the review reads.
Switchback also included our Super D Glove: "Flylow built their reputation in the glove world around simple leather designs that came pre-coated (and baked) with Sno-Seal, but they've stepped up their game with the Super D line. Offered in glove, mitten, and lobster styles, the Super D is substantially warmer and more protective than the brand's Ridge Glove above, with 280-gram Greenloft synthetic insulation along the back of the hand and a wool blend lining throughout."
And last but certainly not least, Backpacker Magazine's review of best winter gloves included the Super D Lobster, a variation on the Super D Glove. This goatskin leather-and-polyester lobster mitt features a generous over-the-sleeve cuff for colder temperatures, catering to skiers who prefer to tuck their sleeves in," the review reads. "Bottom line: A lobster glove tailor-made for serious chargers who line up for first chair and rope drops in freezing temps.
