Women's Truckee Down Parka, Charlie Coat, Avery Jacket, and Donna Pant get accolades in the press.
We could tell you for days on end how we put our gear to the test through long-term field testing and how it performs in a wide range of conditions. But the truth is, it's nice to hear how the gear holds up from other trusted sources, like shop employees, athletes, or gear editors. A bunch of our women's gear recently got applauded by magazine editors and gear reviewers—see what they had to say about our gear below.
Blister recently named the Lucy Jacket and Lucy Anorak a Blister Best Of, while the Foxy Insulated Bib got a Blister Recommended label. "We've long been fans of the Foxy Bib, and now Flylow also offers an extra-cozy insulated version, which is a great option for those who run cold or just need a warmer bib for the iciest days," says Blister. "Flylow has also expanded on another long standing favorite, the Lucy Jacket, with the addition of an anorak version this season. The Lucy Anorak has generous pocket space, a roomy hood, and a supple but burly face fabric." Pick up the Blister Winter Buyer's Guide for those full reviews.
The Truckee Down Parka was named best value by Outside Magazine in a roundup of this year's best winter coats. "This no-nonsense, stylish 600-fill down jacket became one Denver-based tester's go-to down all winter long," the review reads. "She liked that the cut of this responsibly sourced down jacket was still form-fitting and feminine while also being cozy and warm, and the drop-hem in the back fully covered her butt. Smart features round out the piece, like a generous hood with an easy cinch for extra protection from wind and snow, and an inner pocket that allows you to secure valuables with a zipper. The available colorways—including a muted forest green, cream, and simple black—are understated yet stylish."
Ski Magazine named the Charlie Coat the best jacket for cold days. "Flylow's Charlie … is fully weather-protective, with a 30k/30k waterproof/breathable shell that kept us dry and let us effectively dump heat as needed," the review reads. "Flylow uses a two-layer nylon outer fabric that's air-permeable but fully waterproof, and pairs it with a venting Pertex lining and 800-fill down inside–a full 150 grams of insulation … A generous internal stuff pocket held a hat, gloves, and goggles when we headed in for hot cocoa."
Ski Magazine continued: "It's those types of thoughtful touches that skiers really appreciated, including a pass pocket perfectly placed to prevent contortionist moves at the turnstile and a hood sized to ease over a helmet without struggle. The jacket is cut long, and if you pair it with Flylow's bibs, they snap together to give the kit onesie-like deep-powder performance. It's too bulky to pack for backcountry missions, but for frigid East Coast lift rides, we reached for this jacket all the time."
The Avery Jacket and Donna Pants got the nod of approval from Elevation Outdoors. "Flylow continues to get the vibe just right when it comes to women's winter apparel. Take the Avery Jacket: Built with a Specter two-layer hardshell fabric on the outside, it can withstand the worst precipitation while the comfy Greenloft recycled insulation inside keeps you cozy—all while looking good without too much flair," the review reads. "The dependable Donna pant, a waterproof hardshell, completes the outfit."
