We're In It For the Future
Our commitment to the outdoors runs deep. We’re in this for the long haul. Here at Flylow, durability has always been our best form of sustainability, as we’ve built a company from day one based on making thoughtful, functional products that are designed to be heavily used and endure through the harshest conditions. Because if you don’t have to replace your gear every year and throw out what’s broken or worn, that is the best thing we can all do for the environment.
But we understand that alone is not enough. A product’s biggest environmental impact starts with its supply chain, and we are committed to responsible production along every step of the way. That means from manufacturing to distribution, the partners we choose, the materials we select, and the processes we employ matter. We are committed to investing time, energy, and dollars into reducing our impact on the environment, ensuring the safest and most socially responsible conditions along our supply chain, choosing the best materials available, and reducing waste. Our goal is to collaborate with organizations, initiatives, and suppliers that aim for the highest standards possible.
We’re an outdoor gear company and we believe that the best adventures happen in wild, open spaces and amongst healthy communities that support outdoor recreation. We believe everyone should have an opportunity to experience the wonders of the mountains. We’re in it for the adventure, the connection, the feeling you get after a day spent outside. That is what drives us—and we’d like to keep doing that for as long as we can. At Flylow, we’re in it for the future.
PEOPLE
Preserving a Sense of Community
Work Environment
It’s the hard-working people behind the scenes who make all the difference. That means everyone from our warehouse staff and athletes to our sales crew. Protecting and preserving the communities where our gear is designed, made, tested, and sold remains of the highest priority. The goal: Create a positive, safe, and healthy workplace environment for everyone.
Our Community Partners
We strive to give back to our communities. We donate gear for non-profits, volunteer on traiI-building days, donate to wildland preservation, and work with a variety of programs that help make access to the outdoors available for everyone. The most significant way we’ve found to give back is through a program we call The Good Lab, where we work directly with non-profit and community organizations to help them design, manufacture, sell, and ship high-quality, customized products, where the money goes straight back to their causes. We’ve worked with organizations ranging from local avalanche centers and adaptive and youth sports organizations to climate advocacy groups and organizations that focus on trail building or wilderness protection. With our help making products (which is what we’re good at), these organizations can focus on the job of helping others and changing our world for the better. Learn More About Our Community Partners

Reducing our Impact on the Environment
Climate Impact
Since 2021, Flylow has measured the greenhouse gas impact of our total scope of doing business. Measuring this includes calculating the carbon impact from manufacturing our products, the resources we consume at our headquarters, and the footprint of shipping our products to retailers and customers, as well as many other impacts along the supply chain. Our footprint is calculated following the Greenhouse Gas Protocol measuring emissions from Scope 1 (direct emissions under our company’s control), Scope 2 (indirect emissions from energy that occur off-site, but that we consume at our company facilities), and Scope 3 (all other indirect emissions from our supply chain including product creation, business travel, employee commuting and more). Our top contributor to our emissions is the products we make, which currently accounts for 66% of our total 2022 footprint. We set our emissions baseline in 2021 and are committed to measuring our impact every year. We aim for continuous improvement in measurement and understand that measuring is just the first step toward reduction. We use our footprint to identify areas of high impact and are working toward reduction actions.

PRODUCTS
Using Innovation to Design the Kindest Products
Sustainable Materials
We work with the best partners in the textile industry to ensure our gear and materials meet the highest safety and environmental standards. That means utilizing fabrics and insulations made with post-consumer recycled materials, using Durable Water Repellents without PFAS forever chemicals, and hand-selecting fabrics that are bluesign® and Oeko-Tex certified. It also means selecting cruelty-free down in our insulation and using antimicrobial treatment to reduce water usage that comes from excess washing.
Chemicals Management
We seek to mitigate the harmful impacts of our products on human and environmental health. Our chemical management and restricted substances list ensures that our products do not include banned chemicals, restricted chemicals, or chemicals of concern. Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) are toxic chemicals traditionally used in outdoor gear for their water-resistant properties. As of fall 2023, Flylow no longer uses any PFAS in any of our products.
Animal Welfare
All down and down products supplied to Flylow are certified to the Responsible Down Standard, which means all down and feathers used in our insulation comes from farms with the highest level of animal welfare practices. The down insulation we use is also traceable to the source using Allied Feather + Down’s Track My Down program, which means a transparent down supply chain sourced only from certified farms, backed by the most rigorous standards. All wool and wool products supplied to Flylow are sourced from sheep that have not been mulesed. Suppliers are required to source wool certified to the Responsible Wool Standard.
Recycled Materials
It takes a lot of resources to make new raw materials. Whenever possible, we are using fabrics and insulation made from recycled post-consumer materials. Currently, around 80% of our gear is made from recycled materials—ranging from yarn made from discarded fishing line to synthetic fabrics made from plastic water bottles—and we’re working on increasing that number without compromising performance. A majority of our most technical pieces now are made from fabrics spun from repurposed plastics and fibers, saving waste from the landfill and reducing our reliance on petroleum, while keeping you warm and dry.
Care and Repair
We know that the best product for the environment is the one you already own, so we work hard to offer the best in product care and repair to keep your gear going strong for longer. We have a used goods store in our warehouse called the Warming Hut to increase the lifespan of our products and we are working to improve our end-of-life product options, ranging from upcycling to used gear exchanges. We launched Flylow Leftover Land in partnership with Geartrade to keep gear in use and out of landfills. Customers can trade in well-loved Flylow gear to get a credit towards a new order.
Packaging
At the nitty gritty level, we do things like reuse boxes in our warehouse, minimize single-use and plastic packaging, and repurpose scrap fabric from our ski pants to make rad tote bags and to be used on the exterior fabric on our gloves. We have redesigned our packaging to use less materials and to move toward packaging that is both recycled and recyclable. All of our paper packaging components are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.
