It's Called "Backcountry Skiing"

Husband and wife power duo Cody Townsend and Elyse Saugstad recently dropped a hilarious edit called "It's Called 'Backcountry Skiing.'" In addition to some quality humor, this has some of the best ski footage we've seen in a while. Cody and Elyse have been unstoppable lately. First, they both won skier of the year at the International Freeski Film Festival, then Cody picked up a couple of Powder Awards and had the video of his line from MSP's "Days of my Youth" go completely viral (it's now at 6.7 million views). Elyse, who was nominated for best female at the Powder Awards for her parts in the women's ski film "Pretty Faces," has been touring the country teaching her SAFEAS avalanche safety clinics for women, which wrapped up this weekend in Colorado. Which is a good reminder, of course, that while backcountry skiing is fun and all, it's also dangerous: Check your avy report and be smart and safe out there.
