Mountain in My Mind 4 Coming to a Theater Near You Soon

It’s ski movie season (which we love!), but this isn’t your average ski movie. Mountain in My Mind 4 is a new release from director and producer, John Padilla, who’s now made four full-length films focused on mental health in the ski community. This fourth feature, filmed over the last two years, is unlike his other films. This one follows Padilla has he navigates life after a hit-and-run.

It’s about recovery and getting back to the things you love after a traumatic incident, but it’s also about what connects us and brings us together when everything feels like it’s falling apart. Thirteen months after his injury and through several surgeries, Padilla finally gets to go skiing again.

Supported by Flylow, this film features Benni Harrington, a halfpipe skier at the 2026 Olympics, who joins Padilla in Cooke City, Montana, for some sled-accessed pow skiing. They run into skiers Wiley Miller and Colter Hinchliffe in the backcountry and share a few pillow laps. Throughout a winter in Cooke City, Padilla invites a new athlete each week to discuss their own mental health struggles and their most important tools for resilience.

The film is currently on tour and will be making stops in Salt Lake City, Breckenridge, Truckee, South Lake Tahoe, Steamboat Springs, and Bend this fall. Check the tour schedule and pick up tickets. A portion of all tour profits will be donated to local suicide prevention organizations at each stop.
