The General’s Down, an 800-fill pillowy goose down jacket with a tough, ripstop exterior, is a staple in the Flylow line. It’ll undoubtedly become a fixture in your coat collection, too. On breezy fall days, you’ll wear this puffy while walking the dog. On late summer camping trips, you’ll don it sipping whiskey around the campfire. And on those ice-cold winter days, you’ll stuff this fluffy down hoody under your hardshell as an insulating midlayer. It’s packable and compressible enough to layer comfortably and even stuffs into its own pocket for the road. Pertex fabric is tightly woven to enhance the efficiency of the insulation, and underarm vents and a breathable, matte-finish fabric keep you from overheating.

50/50 Inbounds/Out-Of-Bounds
Conditions dependent, you split your time pretty evenly between the ski resort and the backcountry, which means you need gear that's tough and waterproof enough for the pounding of tram laps and storm skiing inbounds but won't sweat out on a climb on those days you decide to earn your turns. Here, we opt for fabrics and features that do double duty, like jacket powder skirts you can zip out or bib pants made for versatile pursuits.

The General's Down Jacket Features
Pertex Quantum
What good is down insulation inside a jacket if the exterior fabric isn’t doing anything in support? Pertex Quantum is like the insulation’s maid of honor—it’s there to make sure all the pieces fall into place. This tightly woven exterior fabric, constructed from fine yarns, has a light, soft feel that allows the insulation to fully loft. It traps still air to improve the warmth and efficiency of the insulating layer, and it’s coated with a DWR to dispel wind, rain, and snow.
PFC-Free
PFCs, or perfluorocarbons, are found in chemicals often used in Durable Water Repellent (or DWR), and once released into the environment, those chemicals are no good. Instead of harmful PFCs, we’re using a friendlier, bio-based treatment that will still keep your fabric dry in a storm but is kinder to you and our planet.

Responsible Down Standard, or RDS, means every feather used in our 800- or 600-fill down insulation has been third-party certified for safety standards, ensuring that all geese and ducks are raised by certified farms that meet the highest levels of animal welfare compliance and supply chain traceability.
