We teamed up with Backcountry.com this winter to produce a colab kit of backcountry outwear. The bib pants we created with Backcountry have received rave reviews, including a recent honor from Forbes.com as the "ultimate ski pant." Here's what Forbes senior contributor Larry Olmsted had to say: "Flylow was launched in 2005 by two Colorado buddies who were avid backcountry skiers and were tearing through gear, so they decided to create a tougher, better made, more durable apparel brand, and Flylow has since become a darling of the winter sports set. Flylow designers got together with Backountry’s in-house “Gearhead” department to rethink everything you could want in ski pants and the Mill D Bib Pant is the result (women’s model is called the Patsey Marley Bib)."
Olmsted continued: "Because it is totally suitable for backcountry and uphill touring, there was big focus on breathability and not getting clammy during the exertion part of the day. At the same time, they decided it had to be truly waterproof, and while garments have claimed to be both waterproof and breathable for years, the breathable part has always been somewhat dubious. For this reason, they made it out of Neoshell, from legendary active garment fabric specialist Polartec, one of the few waterproof membranes that’s actually air permeable."
