Why You Need a Pair of Bib Pants

We love bibs and so do our friends at evo. They wrote up an article on why you should make the switch to bibs, with a couple nods to both our men’s and women’s bibs. Check out some reasons why you should think about making the switch, or head to evo for the full read.

Every skier and snowboarder should own a pair of ski bibs. It’s just a universal truth. If you already ski or ride in bibs, you can stop right here, you’ve seen the light. If not, read on, but we’d recommend opening another tab to start shopping for some snowboard bib pants.

How many times have you heard the phrase “If you’re not crashing, you’re not learning”? But crashing in regular snow pants means one thing: Snow everywhere… Go down once and you’ll have a cold butt and belly, and soaked base layers to remind you of that crash for the rest of the day… But with bibs, you can crash with impunity. If you get your jacket and bibs from the same brand, they’ll work in tandem to block that gap completely. For example, a Flylow jacket, combined with their Baker Bibs will work together to combat the entrance of any snow by connecting at the waist.

For women, while bib detractors might argue that it’s harder to answer nature’s call when wearing bibs, bib manufacturers like Flylow have come up with ingenious zip systems, or unique straps that make it just as easy to get out of the bathroom and back onto the slopes as it is while wearing normal women's ski pants.

Finally, bibs are just more comfortable. You’ve got more adjustability to dial in your fit, and make sure it works for you. Skiing and snowboarding require a wide range of motion, they’re hard athletic activities and that means you need to be able to move your body smoothly and quickly.
