It’s Been 20 Years and This is Our Best Winter Collection Yet

Introducing our first Gore-Tex pieces, an expanded kids’ collection, and some fleece overalls you’re going to live in all winter. Here’s what you’ll love about our new winter 2026 collection.

Twenty years ago, we rolled out our first-ever Flylow pieces: a black softshell jacket, called the Black Coat (marketing was clearly not our area of expertise), and a pair of ridiculously overbuilt ski pants, called the Cactus Pants, which were made from a tough-as-nails cotton canvas that was better suited for construction jobs than skiing. We also had a few hats and T-shirts.

When we presented our gear to stores, to see if anyone was interested in selling it to their customers, they mostly just laughed. I don’t blame them. I was finishing school and bartending and I had zero experience designing or selling ski clothing. Why should they take someone like me seriously? A few brave independent shop owners saw our potential and placed an order. We sold some pants and jackets, mostly to our friends at a deep discount just to cover costs, and those first few years, if you saw someone wearing Flylow on a chairlift or a skintrack, chances are they knew me or Greg.

Fast forward 20 years. We’ve learned so much about this business that we’re now helping other young upstarts in the outerwear world find their footing. And now, our new collection for Winter 2026 is so vast and diverse, we have to divide it into categories, like our Z Line, Deeper Line, Boundary Line, and Habitat, each designed for slightly different uses and users.

Our Winter 2026 collection makes me incredibly proud, especially as we reach this monumental 20-year mark of operating as an independent, homegrown, mountain raised company. The overall collection feels elevated, using all the knowledge we’ve gained from the past 20 years to make gear that you’ll use regularly and rely on in all conditions for a long time. Here are a few things we think you'll really appreciate with this winter's gear.

The Addition of Gore-Tex

For the first time, we have Gore-Tex fabric in the lineup. (Photo by Ben Arnst)

We are using Gore-Tex for the first time, incorporating Gore-Tex’s new ePE (expanded polyethylene) membrane, the industry’s highest performing durable membrane for next-generation waterproofing and breathability, which is made without added per- and polyfluorinated substances, so it's PFAS-free with a reduced carbon footprint.

We now have some of the market’s best-selling bibs—like the Baker Bib and the Siren Bib—in three-layer Gore-Tex, making these the most stormproof, lightweight backcountry and all-around bibs you’ll find. The three-layer Lab Coat, Domino Jacket, and Compound Pant, as well as the two-layer Dante Jacket and Freya Jacket are all being made with Gore-Tex fabric now.

New Gear for Winter 2026

We don’t create new products just for the sake of it. We think of a need or a problem that needs solving, and we design a solution. New for winter 2026 is the Underhill Pant, a softshell ski touring pant in a more freeride-friendly fit to answer the demands of all those fast-and-light backcountry skiers who want light, breathable softshell but don’t want to wear tight, uncomfortable pants. (We hear you!)

Fleece is back in a big way this winter, in the form of the new Irwin Fleece Shirt, Boone Fleece, and Figgie Bib. (You’ve got to try on a pair of the all-fleece Figgie overalls for the ultimate in hut lounge wear.) The Sam Jacket is a new addition to our women’s lineup: It’s a lightweight, packable, synthetic insulated layer that you can stack under a shell or wear on its own.

Making Existing Items Better

The Figgie Bib and the Rope Tow Glove are two new additions for this year.

One of my favorite things about what we do is we get to reinvent and refine products every year. We tweak designs or materials to make it stronger, adjust fit to be more accommodating. This year, we brought back the Stash Bib with more stretch fabric and the Dexter Jacket, which has been reinvented as a more packable, non-hooded micropuff. The crowd-favorite Magnum Pant is still around, but we made it with our three-layer Surface fabric for a more robust hardshell. And the women’s Donna Pant got a refresh with a more modern fit.

New and Improved Gloves

If you’ve ever skied in New Zealand or any Midwest ski hill with a rope tow, you know how much ropes can trash your leather gloves. We took a nod from this to create the new-for-this-season Rope Tow Glove and Rope Tow Mitten, which have a similar design and materials to our popular Oven Mit and Ridge Glove but with an additional reinforced overlay on the palms to handle the rigors of mountain life (whether you’re riding rope tows or not). We also updated all of our T-shirts and beanies, because you can never have too many hats.

Growing the Kids’ Collection

My kids are almost as excited about the new additions to our youth collection as they are about the next snow day from school. Last year, we rolled out our first-ever kids’ gear in the form of the Baker Jr. Bibs and the Explorer Jacket. You’ll see those return again this season but we’ve also added a few new pieces to outfit the next generation. We’ve got a two-layer, waterproof shell jacket in the Explorer Shell Jacket, for kids who run hot, like to layer, or want to use this coat as a year-round shell.

We also added a shell pant, a junior version of our Chemical Pant with waterproof, breathable fabric and a generous size zipper that can accommodate the needs of young ski racers. And what kid doesn’t want a cozy down jacket? So we made a grom version of the General’s Down Jacket, a lightweight puffy they can wear under a shell on cold days or wear to school all winter. Quick note on kids' gear: You're going to have to wait for it. Production was a bit delayed, so expect our kids' gear to drop later in the fall. We'll keep you posted when it's coming!
