When I think about the construction of garments in our industry, there are so many great companies that make incredible pieces. But not many fabrics can compare to Gore-Tex. If you’d asked me 20 years ago, when I was starting this company with a couple of T-shirts and some waxed canvas ski pants that were barely waterproof, I never would believed that we’d one day be producing gear with Gore-Tex, arguably the finest waterproof, breathable fabric membrane on the market.
From a durable waterproof and breathable standpoint, you can’t beat Gore-Tex. And the brand’s new expanded Polyethylene, or ePE, membrane, is made even smarter and cleaner.
It's made without intentionally added PFAS and with a reduced carbon footprint, per Higg MSI, achieved by a lower material mass and material combination. So, you’re getting a top performing fabric that’ll keep you warm and dry in all conditions while making less of an impact on the environment. That’s a win win.
Gore-Tex’s ePE membrane is light and thin, yet strong, so it’s durable enough to handle the rigors of skiing 100 days a year but light enough to haul into the backcountry. You’ll get stormproof protection and breathable performance in one streamlined package. We were able to take our Lab Coat and women's Domino Jacket—already trusty tools for big-mountain and backcountry riding—and step them up a notch by making them with Gore-Tex. Same goes for our Baker Bib and women’s Siren Bib. We wanted to show that the best bibs should be made with the best fabric. We got to build our collection around that concept. The Compound Pant now comes in Gore-Tex, as does our two-layer Dante Jacket and our Freya Jacket.
These pieces are designed for the most demanding skiers out there, the hardy, powder-chasing folks who need their gear to last day in and day out. But we also know that anyone who’s going out skiing is going to have a better chance of staying warm and comfortable if they’re wearing protective, breathable fabric, so really, our Gore-Tex pieces are made for everyone.
