We added new essentials to our spring line that’ll protect you on windy summits, outfit you on travel days, and keep your arms from getting sizzled by the sun.
Don’t get us wrong. We will always be obsessed with winter. But there’s a low-key magic that happens in mountain towns come spring and summertime. The snow melts, the trails extend forever, and the lakes and rivers beckon. It’s during those long days, with ample daylight and many ways to play that our obsession for this landscape takes on a whole new level. Our new spring/summer collection for this year has us extra excited for the warmer seasons. It’s full of new and improved pieces, innovative fabrics, lower-impact design, and a couple of items you might live in all summer long. Here’s what to look forward to.
1. This is the year you mountain bike in pants.
Maybe you’re already an MTB pant convert. Or maybe you’re tired of scratching up your legs and considering other options. The Tia Pant for women and the Preston Pant for men are our answers for those looking for more of a full-coverage mountain bike kit. Especially in the shoulder seasons of spring and fall, having lightweight, breathable pants with more protection from the elements is a smart idea. When you’re done riding, these are pants you can wear around town comfortably.
2. We made the most comfortable outfit ever.
We made a crewneck sweatshirt out of this new fabric that’s so soft and buttery, you might ask us to make a onesie out of it. (We’re open to suggestions!) It’s the Sugar Crew for women and the Donner Crew for men. Trust us on this one, this is a very comfortable top. Wear it with the new Tiller Jogger for men or Tucker Jogger for women and you’ve got an outfit that you may never want to take off. You’ll wear this look on long plane rides or road trips, everyday outings, and evenings at home.
3. You needed a Western button-up tech T, no?
So, maybe this one isn’t exactly a necessity item. But it’s fun, and that counts for something. The new-for-this-year Cody Shirt is a quick-drying collared shirt with snap buttons up the front, party prints, and old West styling. It’s made from a breathable, stretch fabric so you can wear this shirt mountain biking or hiking or wherever the day takes you. The women’s Anderson Shirt and Aster Shirt have similar vibes.
4. Don’t like sunscreen or sunburns? Wear a sunshirt.
Pretty sure word is out already that long-sleeved, hooded sunshirts are the answer to many of our sun-related problems come summertime. Nobody wants to deal with reapplying sunscreen to their arms every hour while on a paddleboard or a bike ride, but we also don’t want to get fried. The solution? A long-sleeved shirt that’s light and breezy and won’t overheat but will protect you from the sun. We already have our popular Moonlight Shirt for women and Bandit Shirt for men, but we’ve added the women’s Jessi Sun Hoody and Nash Sun Hoody that have more hoody styling and a slightly more midweight fabric. All of them come with UPF ratings built into the fabric.
5. We made a practical, packable dress.
Using the same lightweight, summery fabric as our existing Tucker Jumpsuit and Tucker Jumper and our new Tucker Jogger, we also made a sure-to-impress Tucker Dress. This is the kind of no-fuss dress that you can throw on over a swimsuit or after a bike ride. It’s made from a wrinkle-free fabric that makes this piece easy to pack for a weekend away.
6. Zero PFAS.
At Flylow, our main objective is to make gear that you love and use regularly. Manufacturing products in the least harmful way and utilizing materials and methods that are gentle on our planet and its communities is critical to what we do. Our entire product line is now made without the use of harmful PFAS, known as forever chemicals. In our most technical garments, we’re using a friendlier bio-based treatment that’ll still keep your fabric dry but won’t cause irreparable damage. 7. You’ve got windbreaker options now.
Our full-zip Davis Jacket windbreaker has proven so essential over the past five years that this spring, we added two new styles from the same fabric: the hoodless Davis Anorak and the women’s hooded Samara Anorak. These pullover versions of your favorite windbreaker come with a big front zipper, so you can ventilate on the climb and pull the shell over your head without taking off your helmet. These lightweight wind layers pack down tiny so you can stuff them in your waist belt or running vest as an emergency layer for the summit.
8. We’ve got shorts for days.
We have shorts for all the things you’ll do in a summer season, from biking to swimming to running to napping in a hammock. But this spring, we added a few new shorts to the lineup to round out your everyday needs. For women, the HW Life Short is a high-waisted version of our crowd-favorite Life Short, while the Sunrise Short is a retro-inspired utility short with a webbed waistbelt and multi-use functionality. On the men’s side, we added the Wyatt Short, a quick-drying short with a drawstring waist, and the Fernie Short, a durable do-it-all short with a buckle waist closure.
