Backcountry Film Fest

What's better than one watching movie about skiing in the backcountry? Watching a whole bunch of them. The Backcountry Film Festival, which is put on by the Winter Wildlands Alliance, has been on a tour of the country all fall and winter. It'll show up in Salt Lake City this week and heads to a lot of other towns throughout February and March (check out the full tour schedule to see if it's coming to a theater near you). You'll catch films like Shifting Ice, about an all-women's ski-and-sail expedition to Greenland, Always Above Us from Sherpas Cinemas, Japan by Van from Sweetgrass Productions, and other films that'll inspire you to get out on the skintrack.
