Saddle Up: Let’s go skijoring with Faith Hamlin at a ranch in Wyoming.
You can’t really imagine skijoring until you see it. Picture a captivating intersection of Western ranch life mixed with ski culture and you’ll have an inkling of what we’re talking about. In this third episode of “Peaks and Passages,” we get to know some of the passionate characters who love skiing just as much as they love taking care of horses.
Faith Hamlin, a former Jackson Hole Freeride team skier, chose a different path that led her back to her family ranch in the remote Wyoming wilderness of Bondurant. As an avid skier, full-time rancher, and horseback enthusiast, Faith recognized the opportunity to bridge the gap between these seemingly disparate communities. What began as a simple gathering to celebrate spring in the ranching community has transformed into the Jennie Skijoring event, a convergence of two cultures sharing a passion for living life outdoors on their own terms.
In this short film, Faith’s daily life on the ranch seamlessly merges with her commitment to hosting the Jennie Skijoring event, a visually stunning spectacle and a testament to the growing bond between skiers and ranchers. Faith serves as the linchpin, deftly pairing skiers with horseback riders, fostering a unique camaraderie that transcends divides. Joining her are the likes of Adele Priestley, a spirited skier and adventurer who recently discovered a passion for skijoring, and Tami Razinger, a freeskier eager to embrace skijoring for the first time.
Watch as these two cultures unite through a shared love of nature, hard work, and community.
