Kate Targett, a roots team athlete for Flylow, usually flies under the radar. She's a strong skier who grew up mogul skiing in Alberta, Canada, and won the
Hugo Harrison Stomp award at Wrangle the Chute contest at BC's Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, but she works as a geologist and ski coach and has never seemed to seek the spotlight for her own skiing.
Until SBC Skier showed up, anyway. The magazine recently featured Kate as one of their up-and-coming stars in a series called Scouted. "My mantra is to be the first one on the lift and leverage every day to the bitter end. You never know when you are going to feel inspired by conditions, a jump, or a line and find progression in these moments," Kate says in the interview.
