Rise of Backcountry Brands

Devon O'Neil recently penned a story for TetonGravity.com about the rise of backcountry brands in the ski industry, brands like Flylow, Wagner Custom, DPS, and Cast Touring. It's an interesting read (and not just because it's about us) and one that shows that small brands born of necessity because gear made for the kind of backcountry skiing we do now didn't really exist are flourishing and now competing with much larger companies.

"More than ever, new apparel and hardgoods brands are launching not as corporate offshoots but as small, credible niche fillers conceived by grassroots skiers pros and ski bums alike," writes O'Neil.
