Growing up in Tri-Cities, Washington, Meg Matheson always dreamed of the mountains that were absent from her surroundings. She began snowboarding at the age of 14 after discovering a bus route up to a little resort named Bluewood.
Since then, she’s been captivated by snowboarding. She began her career in the park but now mostly sticks to the backcountry. Her goal is to become a splitboard guide and help other women get up in the mountains. In the summers, she works as a full-time raft guide on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. She spends the remainder of the year living in a pop-up truck camper, chasing the snow and exploring new zones. Give her a howl if you see her on the slopes — you’ll never catch her without a smile and enough pocket bacon to share.
