Syd Ricketts is a freeride skier born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. Syd grew up competing in freeride events and eventually started competing in the Freeride World Qualifiers for many years. After experiencing a unique knee injury, then surgery, and eventually burnout, she took to coaching the next generation of Freeride. Syd coached the Altabird Freeride team for 6 years before taking an opportunity to coach for JHSC in Jackson Hole, Wyoming where she currently resides.

Apart from skiing and horses, Syd is also an avid whitewater enthusiast, artist, mountain biker, and earth explorer. You can usually find her outside.
