Noah Gaffney started skiing at two years old, and as a youngster, he skied on the teams at Palisades Tahoe. At 9 years old, he began venturing into the backcountry with the guidance of his father, the late legendary freeskiing pioneer Robb Gaffney. By 15, he had skied most of the major mountains around Tahoe, many in the Eastern Sierra, and multiple 14,000 peaks throughout California.
